Beranda began in the simplest way — from a genuine love for coffee and the joy of making something with our own hands. At first, it was never meant to be a big café or a grand business idea. It started just for fun, as a small family effort, with a humble table, handcrafted coffee, and fresh cookies shared among friends and family.

In those early days, Beranda was simply a cozy little spot to gather, to try something homemade, and to enjoy slow evenings together. It was personal, simple, and sincere — the kind of place where every cup felt like it was made for someone we knew.

But little by little, more people started showing up.

Friends brought friends. Families came by after hearing about the coffee. Photos and videos started making their way around social media, and somehow this small family space in Kampung Tualang slowly became a place people were curious to visit for themselves.

Before long, Beranda became something people talked about. Guests began coming not only from nearby, but from Alor Setar, Pendang, and Pokok Sena — and once in a while, even from Penang.

That kind of support meant a lot to us.

And because people were willing to come from far away, we felt a responsibility to make every visit worth it. Beranda slowly grew beyond coffee and cookies. We started introducing more menu choices, more comforting drinks, and more food that people would genuinely enjoy — the kind of familiar comfort food you crave when you want something satisfying, cozy, and easy to love.

At the same time, we have always been mindful about keeping our prices approachable.

Beranda is rooted in a kampung community, and we never wanted good coffee and comforting food to feel like something only a few people could enjoy. We want students, families, friends, and everyday customers to be able to come in, order what they like, and enjoy the experience without having to think twice about the price.

For us, keeping things affordable is part of the hospitality.

Quality still matters to us. So does the care that goes into every cup and every plate. But we believe a good evening out should still feel within reach — especially in the community we call home.

Even as the menu grew, the heart of Beranda stayed the same.

We have always wanted this place to feel warm, welcoming, and easy — somewhere you can come with family, catch up with old friends, bring someone new, or simply spend a quiet evening on your own. A place with friendly faces, relaxed conversations, and the kind of neighborhood energy that makes people feel comfortable the moment they arrive.

Beranda is not just about what’s on the table. It’s about the feeling around it — the slower pace, the familiar atmosphere, the comfort of a place that doesn’t ask you to rush.

It is a small family business built with heart, grown by community, and shaped by the people who keep coming back.

What began as something simple, playful, and personal has become a place we are deeply proud of — a little corner in Kampung Tualang where good coffee, comforting food, friendly faces, and good company come together.
